Servicing

Regular servicing and continued inspections are key to keeping your bike running smoothly.

Routine maintenance reduces the need for emergency repairs, and keeping up with day to day tasks can save money on more costly work which might be needed later.

Basic Service: £70

Every six months or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Includes: 

• Adjust front and rear derailleurs (gears)

• Adjust front and rear brakes - advise on pad condition

• Check chain for wear and advise on replacement

• Inflate tyres to recommended pressure

• Straighten (true) wheels (while on bike)

• Check hubs for wear

• Check fork alignment and adjust if necessary

• Check crankset for wear and movement

• Lubricate moving parts as needed

• Check bike for safety and adjust as required

• Carry out a road test and provide a report detailing extra work which could be carried out, if needed.

Please note the cost of parts which may need replacing are not included in any service package.

Repairs

Nick’s Mobile Bike Surgery can carry out most bike repairs at your home, but we need to see the bike to diagnose what’s wrong. We'll come to your home (or wherever you need us) and make a detailed inspection before providing you with an estimate of the cost of the work needed.

 

Some common repairs include:

• Brake service (brake adjustment, clean, inspect/replace pad and lubricate calliper): from £25.

• Gear service (inspect, adjust and lubricate shifters, cables and derailleurs): from £25.

• Chain and cassette/freewheel replacement (it is recommended that these are replaced as a pair to stop slipping and reduce rapid wear): £20.

All other repairs are available and will be quoted for once your bike has been inspected. Parts are not included in the prices above.

Minimum charge: we levy a minimum charge of £25 to provide a detailed report on your bike's condition on any callout (this is removed from your final bill if you choose to proceed with any work).
