HOW IT WORKS

To make your cycling life as simple as possible we offer a range of service options which prolong the life of your bike and its components, as well as repairs to get you back on the road fast. Simply follow these three steps:

Book in

Once you've arranged an appointment at a time to suit you, we'll travel to you and take a look at your bike. We're committed to easy pricing with no surprises, so can't give estimates before we've seen the bike.

Get checked

We'll examine your bike and provide a detailed report on its condition along with an estimated repair or service cost, giving you all you need to make a decision on what comes next.

Get cycling

Repairs and servicing are carried out on-site from our fully-stocked van, although we may sometimes need to take a bike away for more advanced repairs before returning it. Then you're back in the saddle and ready to pedal.

PRICING

We offer regular and one-off servicing options - essential to keep your bike running smoothly - as well as repairs for when things go wrong and you just want to get back in the saddle as quickly as possible.

Remember with Nick’s Mobile Bike Surgery you’re saving at least 2 hours (and all the hassle) taking your bike to a shop and collecting it again.

Servicing

Basic Service / Safety Inspection: from £65

Every six months or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Includes:

Check and lubricate bearings and adjust if necessary
Check hubs for wear and movement, adjust if necessary and lubricate/clean
Wheel truing
Check fork alignment and adjust if necessary
Check crankset for wear and movement
Lubricate chain, pedal bearings, all cables, derailleurs, brake levers and seat post clamp.
Carry out a road test and provide a report detailing extra work which could be carried out.

Please note the cost of parts which may need replacing are not included in any service package.

Other service levels available including:

Annual service: from £95.
Overhaul service: from £125.
Internet bike safety check (to check your eBay purchase is good to go): from £65.
Fitting and adjustment of lights, computer, kickstand, child carrier, mudguard, luggage rack, bottle cages etc: get in touch for pricing.

Repairs

Nick’s Mobile Bike Surgery can carry out most bike repairs at your home, but we need to see the bike to diagnose what’s wrong. We'll come to your home (or wherever you need us) and make a detailed inspection before providing you with an estimate of the cost of the work needed.

Some common repairs include:

Brake service (brake adjustment, clean, inspect/replace pad and lubricate calliper): from £25.
Gear service (inspect, adjust and lubricate shifters, cables and derailleurs): from £25.
Chain and cassette/freewheel replacement (it is recommended that these are replaced as a pair to stop slipping and reduce rapid wear): £20.

All other repairs are available and will be quoted for once your bike has been inspected. Parts are not included in the prices above.

Minimum charge: we levy a minimum charge of £25 to provide a detailed report on your bike's condition on any callout (this is removed from your final bill if you choose to proceed with any work).
